Pastor Vince Speaks to Corona Virus

In conformity to local measures being taken by the city of Carrollton, TX. I am advising caution to all who will be attending our service on Sunday mornings.  Since our attendance numbers fall below the city of Carrolltons guidelines we will be able to hold service as scheduled.  This certainly is an emergency situation and emergencies require swift action.  There is no better place to be than in the house of Lord and in prayer together.  Many find great comfort in meeting together for worship.  So we are not canceling our Sunday morning service, but we are advising young children and elderly to stay home should you feel it would be best.  I will continue to preach and our staff will be present to support our on-line ministry.  We will be streaming our media live on Facebook,  YouTube and this website.  But should you feel led to attend, we will be happy to see you Sunday morning.  You may also give financially online at our website at
We will all be practicing these guidelines:
  • Social distancing.  Staying at least six feet away from each other during worship.
  • Hand washing regularly.  Our restrooms are fully stocked with soap to meet demand.
  • Avoid embracing and hugging.  Although this is a command practice, we will refrain for a few weeks.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be around our building and use will be encouraged.
We know that the Lord hears our prayers (Acts 4:24).  As we seek Him, He will heal our land.  As we gather together we will be encouraged as we walk in the Lord and give account of His love and mercy towards us.
Should our City advise otherwise, we will comply, but until then, we will see you on Sunday at 10:45 am.

Waiting for Jesus at Christmas

The Angels longed for an eternal Savior to worship
1 Peter 1:12:  “It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.”
The Shepherds longed for a eternal lamb
Luke 2:20 “The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
The Wise men longed for a eternal King
Matthew 2:2 ““Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
Mary and Joseph longed for a son
Matthew 1:24-25 “ When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
The High priest had their temporary lamb and were not interested.
John 18:14 “Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jewish leaders that it would be good if one man died for the people.
The Pharisees had their traditions to save them and were not interested.
Mark 7:9 “And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
The Romans had their temporary Kingdom and were not interested.
Matthew 15:20 “And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.
The Zealots had their revolutionaries and were not interested.
Mark 15:7,15  “ A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising…. wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.”
This Christmas, are you interested in worshiping a King who is worthy of worship, a lamb, worthy to satisfy the requirement for our sins, and a son: “Emanuel”, God with us!  Let us approach Him with full confidence this season, our hearts warmed and our longings satisfied.  Jesus!  The real reason for the season!
Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving is for real!

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5
Being thankful and grateful are not mere emotional responses to things we like.  They are the fruit of maintaining a proper attitude as a proper way of life.  Thankfulness must be cultivated, worked on and refined.  James 1:2 says: “Consider it all joy when you encounter various trials”.  The trials are not any fun at all, but James reminds us to “consider them to be all joy”.  In other words, it takes active evaluation of difficult times in the light of God’s grace to produce a heart of gratitude.  Joy must be “found”.  It must be seen and not allowed to escape from our point of view.  We have so much to be thankful for and if we are not careful, the negative will overshadow the real work of what God is trying to do in our lives.
Would you take the time to acknowledge your need for gratitude?  Would you take time to give thanks for the hard times, the difficult ones and even the bad ones?  In doing so, we will reap an attitude and lifestyle that will be attractive, winsome and contaigeous.  As we gather with our families this week, may we be always grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ who has qualified us to be named as one of the “saved” for all eternity.

The Christian and Business

“People curse the one who hoards grain, but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.”

Proverbs 11:26

The Bible gives us many helpful practical tips on maintaining healthy business practices. When running and maintaining a business, the source of our business model should come from scripture.
The Bible says much to us about how to run a profitable business. Much of our current day economy in the success as we have enjoyed are due to the fact that we based our business on biblical principles. While there are many verses in Scripture we can draw from, here is one which I believe would really bless us. Proverbs 11:26. I see three principles emerge from this text:

People curse the one who hoards grain,

The reality is that people are hungry for a good product.  If it can help us save time, money and thus become more efficient, people want it and are willing to pay for it.  People are looking for a good companies to work with. We have a need to find the product that will help us fix it fast, right and on time. We will be blessed by God if we serve our customers cheerfully and faithfully. ONe thing we must notice very carefully is that it is the people that curse the business owner not God.

…but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell

God bless blesses those who give away. God is a giving and loving God. The Bible tells us that God so loved the world that he “gave“ his only son. We are truly blessed when we give. We are to put our very heart into the products that we create and sell, and keep the customer in mind. Our produce should be a blessing to them!  God also blesses those who are willing to sell items. When you wake up in the morning and get out there and work hard to promote your product people will see the joy in your life and you will be a blessing. This is the kind of Christian that God can bless, the one who put his whole heart into the work that he does.  When you love your work and you love what you do, that kind of love is contagious!

A Mothers Calling

He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children.

Psalm 113:9

The Lord is certainly near those who call upon Him.  The job of the mother can cover the gambit of emotions.  One time you are at your wits end with the care of your children, and the next you are bubbling with pride over their accomplishments.  While the task may seem impossible at times we have the promises of God which says: “Yes, you can do this!”  The Bible teaches us many truths about the joys of being a mother, here are just a few of them:
Our Children need us to be strong
Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge. Proverbs 14:25
Motherhood is a calling.  When the Lord gives children, He gives life.  Life which will perpetuate our family, but also His testimony throughout the world.  For this reason, the Lord gives us a great opportunity to serve Him by raising godly children.  It is the highest calling because our children need us.  While they might easily take advantage of our security, they certainly cannot survive without it.  Take time for yourself.  Rest, refuel and stay strong in the Lord, for your childrens sake!
The Lord who gives children, also gives grace!
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.  2 Corinthians 12:9
Don’t be ashamed if you feel inadequate as a mother.  Being a mom is difficult but not impossible. Do not be afraid to ask for help from a friend, an experienced mom or even your pastor.  Do not forget the ministry of prayer which is our greatest weapon against discouragement.  The Lord is near!
We can rest in the Lord knowing that He will direct our children’s paths.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6
Above all things, stay consistent.  Do not stop going to church, praying with your children, leading them in the fear and knowledge of the Lord.  We will experience some great highs and great lows, but we should never stop being who we were called to be: “a mom”.  Our children will always
Your children will one day thank you
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her Proverbs 31:28
While we will experience great rewards in heaven, our greatest reward here on earth will be from our own family.  Strong discipline has its rewards.  The proverbs teach us that those who are lazy come to ruin, but those who are wise will be blessed.  While your children might not value discipline the way you do, they will learn over time that what you do for them will reap a lifetime of rewards.
See you Sunday!
